Himlung
The Himlung Himal expedition is an exceptional 7,126 meters peak climbing experience in the remote and culturally rich Nar-Phu Valley of northwestern Nepal.
Standing tall at 7,126 meters, Himlung Himal offers a rare blend of technical adventure and Himalayan solitude, making it a perfect choice among the 7000 meter peaks in Nepal for climbers seeking both challenge and tranquility.
Among the 7000 meter peaks in Nepal, Himlung is considered one of the more achievable peaks, ideal for climbers transitioning from trekking peaks to higher-altitude expeditions. The journey through the hidden Nar-Phu Valley offers jaw-dropping views of Annapurna II, Gangapurna, Tilicho, and Manaslu ranges. Unlike Everest or Manaslu, the Himlung expedition guarantees a serene experience, far from the crowded commercial routes.
The Himlung Himal expedition begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Koto, followed by a multi-day trek through the restricted Nar-Phu Valley. After proper acclimatization and exploration of traditional villages like Meta and Phu, the team reaches Himlung Base Camp (around 4,900 meters). From there, climbers establish higher camps (Camp I, II, and III) before attempting the summit.

The Himlung Himal expedition is considered to be much less arduous among the 7,000 metersu2019 mountains. Having said that, do not think it is an easy climb either. The trails will challenge you and test your mountaineering skills.rnrnThe climb will slowly become strenuous after Camp 1. The normal route from Camp 3 consists of a PD+ side in the snow. Similarly, it has a slope of 35/40 degrees with significant exposure to hard or icy snow.
